STATE OF THE GAME: MID-2024

The first half of 2024 has been quite eventful for Tacticool. Game development is a dynamic process, and this year has been no exception. Within our team, we're continually re-evaluating our goals and asking ourselves the crucial question: How can we make the game better in every aspect? We're focusing on improving gameplay, balance, and technical aspects. We’re adding new content, events, and making changes to keep the game engaging for both newcomers and veteran players who've been with us for five years. These are complex challenges that require constant plan adjustments and shifts in focus. We've updated our Roadmap on the website, and below, you'll find detailed information on what our team is working on and what’s coming in the next few months. We'll also explain the new Weapon Mods available in the latest update. Let's dive in!

New Operator with Unique Mechanics

Starting August 1st, you'll be able to meet McMean, a new operator available in the Battle Pass! He is a part of the "Special Forces" faction and excels at mid-range combat. However, you won’t need to change your tactical approach much. McMean’s versatility allows him to be effective in almost any battlefield situation. He's not only able to equip pistols as a primary weapon, all of his pistols are dual ones. Dual pistols allow him to fire at two enemies at once. McMean alternates shots between his two pistols. Uchebnaya Station Map Improvements

We've reworked the Uchebnaya Station map, and you'll get to experience it in the next update. We've enhanced performance and updated the map's lighting. Made numerous small visual upgrades and other changes, and you'll get to experience them soon.

Tweaks for Early-Game Balance, Economy and More Tutorials

Currently, we understand that the game may be too challenging for new players, and we're actively addressing this issue. One of our main goals is to make Tacticool more welcoming for rookie players. We believe the ideas we’re working on, which you’ll see implemented in upcoming updates, will positively impact player retention and reduce matchmaking times. We're also planning to add more tutorials, covering Operator features and weapon upgrades, to help new players get started smoothly and enjoy the game more.

New Experimental Events and Tutorial Battle Pass for New Players

We're revising our approach to in-game events, aiming to offer more gameplay variety and rewards. Events will be launched more frequently and will be more competitive and challenging. We're also working on a special Battle Pass for new players. Remember, we want more players to join the battlefield and compete.

Loading Time, Game Stability and Steam Release

Our team is currently working on technical improvements to reduce the loading time of the game and matches, also to stabilize frame rates during matches. We want more players around the world to know about Tacticool, and we're aiming to bring more new players to the game. Right now, we're tackling the many challenges of adapting the game for a new platform, and we're doing our utmost to make Tacticool accessible not just on mobile devices and PC through MY.GAMES Launcher but also to the vast community on Steam.

New Global Mechanics

We're working on an exciting new global mechanic, but we're not ready to reveal all the details just yet. Here's a teaser for you. Share your guesses in the comments and discussions on what this could mean and which Operators it might affect:

New Talents for Operators and Balance Tweaks

A new batch of Operators is getting brand new Talents. Thor, Batya and Varg will receive new signature Talents (tier 6 and 10), updated talent trees and new voiceovers. Gradually we're going to make every Operator unique and compelling, with their own play style and tactics.

The Winter Event, Darktober, and Battle Royale Mode

We'll be unveiling some secrets in the Darktober event and improving the much-loved Battle Royale mode. Cooperation and vehicles will be the keys to victory in Battle Royale! An improved map will bring a fresh experience. This winter, we'll reminisce about the good old times, but with some changes and tweaks. We’ll be sharing details as they become available.

Extra Mods for SMGs and Assault Rifles

Since the last update, our team has been closely monitoring the performance of new Mods for SMGs and Assault Rifles and the community's reaction. We see interest from high-level players; about half of them got these Mods, gaining fresh experiences and tactics. However, for other players, this content may seem out of reach. We want to emphasize that the new Mods are an experimental feature. The majority won’t encounter extra Mods users because of ranking differences in matchmaking. We’re considering tweaks based on feedback, balance, and statistics. Looking ahead, we're also working through a few options for long-term goals for players, besides improving weapons and Operators.

We hope you'll love the planned changes, new mechanics, and content we're bringing. Our team believes that every change is a step toward something new and bigger, offering a fantastic new experience for all players. Remember, some updates might release earlier or later, and some features might not make it into the game. We consider numerous factors during development, reading feedback from both new and experienced players, in-game economy, balance, gameplay, and our internal data.
